Nov 9th, 2009: CHRISTMAS GIFTS For LIBERIA ORPHANS SHIPPED! Thank you again for your generosity for the orphans @ ACFI/Hoover Village this year! We asked, & you responded GREATLY!
Jo Ann Veteto & Jim Cunningham took ALL the boxes to UPS this morning - A TOTAL OF 37 BOXES! :) This will insure all these kids have something for Christmas. In talking w/Mary Hoover this morning, we discussed this becoming an annual outreach, and getting the churches who are helping support ACFI here in the USA involved next year. And CBC will be leading the way!
THANKS AGAIN FOR RESPONDING IN SUCH A GENEROUS MANNER. *And special THANKS to Jo Ann for helping me coordinate everything, as this was her idea for our "seasonal" ministry this year! Also THANKS to Jim Cunningham for helping Jo Ann for several hours this morning with all the boxes, and for those who helped yesterday!

SPECIAL CBC Christmas Outreach for 2009 to our Friends and Orphans at Hoover Village! For our Christmas outreach this year we are staying close to home, so to speak, not geographically, but close to the heart of our relationship with ACFI and the Hoover Orphange in Liberia. Below is recent email Ed Kofi sent concerning what gifts he suggest for the orphans. Please look over list and consider what you can do to help these children have a very special Christmas this year.
Bro. Mark, Thanks for your patience. The below listed items are some of what would make a wonderful Christmas for the kids. Please, throw in anything except toy guns. .
CLOTHES (T-shirts, trousers, shirts, shoes, sneakers, underwears, socks, etc) SPORT (soccer balls, basket balls, volley balls, nets, balloons, toys, sets of soccer jersey, etc) FOOD (crackers, candies, chocolate bars, snacks, candy bars, etc) HYGIENE (bathing soap, washing soap, wash cloths, tooth brushes / tooth paste, hair grease, combs, etc) STATIONARIES (papers, pads, pens, pencils, markers, color pencils, erasers, etc) TEEN BIBLES BACK PACKS
These and anything else except toy guns will be ok. The consignment will be shipped out of PA. The Hoover Family will be incharge of the shipping. The container will be loaded and shipped from their premises at Schwenksville, PA. They will also need little help for shipping cost. I think the shipping date is mid November. Therefore, I believe there's a need to begin to gather things now and be prepared to truck everything to the Hoovers once you got green light from them.
We thank God for such wonderful gesture. Thanks and kind regards.
Bro. Ed
A Special Letter from Ed Kofi: September 10, 2009
Beloved at Community Bible Church:
Under the unction
of the divine Spirit of God, I am pleased to share these special
thoughts with you as an encouragement to fulfill your joy and
steadfastness.
Indeed,
it has really being a great privilege, wonderful opportunity and a
blessing to share the CAUSE of needy children in difficult
circumstances including Orphans, the underprivileged and handicapped as
well as those that are victim of war. The simple Joy of just being
there for an innocent suffering child is unspeakable. This worthy
ministry is what we share through God’s grace. I can hardly imagine how
God has greatly stirred and challenged our hearts with such inspiration.
The
raising and godly upbringing of needy children is the passion, common
focus and goal we share. Indeed, this is God’s heartbeat towards
mankind because he compares the kingdom of God with children (Matthew
18:2-3; 19:13). In the last several years, we have labored together as
a rescue and caring team. Even though the mission has somewhat been
difficult, the results justified the sacrifice. Scores of disadvantaged
and helpless children have found refuge, hope and a future. Let’s
indeed CELEBRATE and bless God that he counted us worthy of the honor
to serve in this unique venture.
We
have come a long way and God is still counting on us to continue the
endeavor. Though these are critical times, we believe that the MASTER
is in control and will bring us thru with perseverance. The truth is,
there have been times I thought of quitting being so pressed,
overwhelmed and discouraged. But the Holy Spirit would quickly remind
me that Jesus promised to be with me to the end. I believe this is the
challenge that we share. It is also a privilege and a calling God has
graciously granted us. To him be glory and honor!
We at ACFI bless God for you and our fellowship in Jesus Christ. May God bless you and keep you focused.
Thanks and kind regards.
Ed. Kofi

Letter from ACFI/USA Founder, Mary Ellen Hoover June 2009
Dear Sponsors at Community Bible Church of Kennesaw, Greetings of love to you. Your faithful giving is an important part of our continual ability to care for the needs of African Christians Fellowship International. These needs have been so overwhelming these last six months, but God is always faithful, and your faithfulness in your commitment is such a source of strength. We hurt for those of you who are also feeling the need of discontinuing your support because of these difficult economic times. be assured that you are in our thoughts as we pray for God to continue to bless the work of His kingdom in whatever way He chooses.
From the words of Job, ((42:2) - "I know that you can do all things, no plan of yours can be thwarted, we only need to believe that God is in control..."
At this time Brother Ed Kofi is in Liberia working with the necessary officials to go through the process of changing the orphanage to 'Daniel Hoover Children's Village Mission.' The change would place the ministry underf the umbrella of education instead of social welfare, and is necessary to comply with new and strict regulations being imposed upon all orphanages in Liberia. To comply as an educational mission, improvements of the village need to be made to meet certain requirements. The biggest project will be completing the security fence, which they are planning to attempt with wire instead of all concrete blocks. *Please keep this change and the work necessary to accomplish it in your prayers.
ALERT: We just sent a container to the Village on June 5th, including food, Bibles, and other supplies! It will take about 5 weeks to arrive there. *Please pray for its safe arrival, and quick unloading at the port, as there is a team going over there in July to distribute Bibles and commentaries to pastors.
Remember, God is never late. he is always on time. We love and appreciate each one of you, and I think of you as family in His service.
Working together in His kingdom,
Mary Ellen Hoover

CBC Family: The Orphanage @ Hoover Village still has many children yet without a sponsor. Thank you to all who stepped up in Nov & Dec 2008 to sponsor one or more children. The Kofi's, as well as Mary Hoover, (the head of relief efforts in the USA) are very greatful for your help. We are as a church family now sponsoring 12 children.
But if you were hoping to help but couldn't, and now would like to sponsor a child (only $30.00/month) there is still a need. Please contact me by email: mwh2000@earthlink.net or call my home: (770) 974-3142 I will send you several children to choose. Thank You! It is a time of economic sacrifice in America, but so very much more in Liberia and the needs for these orphans.
PRAISE REPORT from Ed Kofi: January 6th, 2009 Dear Beloved of Community Bible Church,:
This is just a quick news update. Praise the Lord! The children and workers at the Daniel Hoover Children Village got an unwelcome new year visit by armed robbers on Monday night, January 5, 2009.
Right now we are not asking or pleading for any help. Instead, perhaps we could together thank God for protecting the lives of the Children and workers. Somebody could have got hurt. Please, this should not discourage you though the thought is agonizing. Let us know that our God is in control.
The watchmen at the village are now in the hands of police for questioning. According to reports all of them did not report to work Monday night and did not tell anyone that they were not coming to work. Their absence made the situation very grave. The armed men raided the village, going from storage to storage taking everything they saw including the children's food, clothes as well as the school chairs and working tools (wheelbarrows, shovels, etc).
The village has always been the target of armed robbers because the property is not secured. We fear for the lives of the children and workers because perhaps this may one day turn violent.
We know that what has been taken God will replace, so let's only thank him for protecting the lives of the children and workers. Though we grieve in the national, yet, we hope in God that all is well.
Thanks and kind regards. Ed Kofi
THANK YOU to all who have made a commitment to sponsor an orphan @ ACFI Hoover Village! We now have 12 children being sponsored by CBC families in 2009! $30.00 per month is all that is required. *If you would like to help support these kids, who have been through so much, please email: mwh2000@earthlink.net, or call me, & I'll fwd you a few children to choose from. There are still about 80 children that could use your sponsorhip. - Mark Hutchison
An Invitation to our Friends in America @ Community Bible Church: HELP US BY SPONSORING A CHILD IN THE HOOVER VILLAGE ORHANGE IN LIBERIA:
Below you will find the photos with names and personal info about each child @ the ACFI Orphange in Liberia. Patience Kofi, daughter of Ed & Cecilia, sent us the photos of all the new orphans last week (Nov 13th) but I cannot post them all. *(I will post 10 to begin with. It will be a slow process, as I have to edit each picture, then upload onto this page, so please keep coming back often until I get than all posted. But if we sponsor these first ten children I will add more immediately!)
IF you would still like to sponsor a child, please contact Mark Hutchison @ (770) 974 - 3142 ASAP, and you will be given a child from the remaining 80 orphans who are still available for sponsorship.
We are blessed to have this opportunity to become peronally involved in this ministry thousands of miles away, helping to feed these children at the time of year in America when we boast on our often over-abundance. *Please consider the cost to sponsor a child at this time: $30.00 per month.
GREAT NEWS!!! As of December 12th, we have ALL of the 10 CHILDREN Spoken for Sponsorship by CBC family members!!! Thank You for your love and generosity...
*CBC Family: We added two more children this week, as one CBC family requested a young girl for their children to write letters to and share in the responsibility of sharing their money with those in greater need, whileanothert CBC family desired to take on a 3rd orphan, as they had already signed upo for two! They too requested a young girl, so if you scroll down to the bottom of this page, you will see the 2 new orphans that CBC will be caring for. God's blessings to you all who stepped up, especially @ this time of year!
