CBC Ministries

At Community Bible Church, we strive to reach outside our walls through various ministries that are organized and maintained by those who wish to serve within our church family. We see this responsibility as part of Our Lord's command to reach out to those not only in our immediate day-to- day contacts, but throughout the world. Among our outreaches are the following:

Missions: Chile, Guatemala, & Romania

*Our Missions Outreach  at present is to partnering with churches in Guatemala, Romania, and Chile, and now the very real possibility of partnering with friends in China who have come to CBC over the last few years by way of our International Student Outreach. We have built decade-long relationships with our friends in Romania and Guatemala. These bonds have been forged through our committment to reach out to those outside the USA and develop working, helping, and loving relationships through our fellowship in Jesus Christ.

We are dedicated to sending teams from within our body each year to Guatemala and Romania and hopefully more often to Chile. In turn, they reciprocate with their leaders visiting us at least once a year. And this Fall,(2006) sending several to China, hopefully to begin a relationship with a Christian ministry there to college students. This helps us strengthen the bonds of fellowship and encourage one another in the love of Christ with a worldwide perspective.

Outreach to International Students

*Our International Student Outreach  is aimed at reaching students enrolled in various colleges in the area, seeking to develop relationships through activities, home stays, and inviting them to Community Bible Church throughout the year for holiday events. At present we are partnering with North Metro Church in Kennesaw in this outreach, sharing responsibilities and activities together.  *CONTACT:  Don & Linda Carver (770) 977 - 7825

Outreach with MUST Ministries

We have been involved with the MUST Ministries in Marietta, Georgia since the late 1980's, providing transportation to those in the homeless shelter who wish to attend Sunday Worship and share lunch with us. The MUST Ministries program is aimed at those families and singles who have temporarily lost their jobs, their homes, or apartments. Our outreach at CBC is to help them in any way we can, but mainly to extend the hand of fellowship on Sundays for those who wish for a place to worship and fellowship but have no transportation. We recently began a weekly Sunday evening Bible Study @ the MUST Ministries location on Cobb Parkway in Marietta. *CONTACT: Ken Mugg @ (678) 378 - 0820

Women's Ministry:

A new women's ministry emerged at Community in 2006. "Women of the Wall." *(For more info., please click on the Women's Ministry page).

Prison Fellowship and AngelTree Outreach

We have been involved with Prison Fellowship & the AngelTree Outreach programs for the last 15 years. Each Christmas we partner with Prison Fellowship to reach out to the families of prisoners to make available gifts for the children on behalf of their imprisoned parent, as well as support for the caregiver (parent or relative) raising the children. We attempt to reach out to these prisoners with letters, and then invite their families to a Christmas Party held in their honor, as well as deliver gifts to those who have no transportation. After leading up this ministry since we began in 1992, Mark Hutchison turned over it's seasonal operation to John Lewis & Jim Laraby in 2005. *CONTACT: John Lewis @ (770) 447 - 7710

Piece-Makers Ministry

The 'Piecemakers' ministry at CBC was designed by a few of our talented quilt-makers as an outreach to unwed mothers, the Ronald McDonald House, Nursing Homes, and special needs within our church family. Visitors and the curious are indeed Welcome! (For more info please click on the Piecemakers page)  *CONTACT: Jan Cunningham @ (770) 424-7568 or Nancy Hutchison @ (770) 974 - 3142
